For 30 years FAS Frames & Conservation has been dealing in period British and European picture frames. We have an extensive stock of frames dating from 16th – 20th centuries.
FAS Frames & Conservation specialise in sourcing the appropriate frame for a picture which corresponds to the original, taking into account date, style and aesthetic.
If a suitable period frame cannot be sourced, we can supply a reproduction; based on research and experience and, where possible, copied from original frames. We design and run mouldings from which we make frames from all periods. Ornamented frames can be carved or made in traditional compo. We specialise in making frames for a number of British artists with chosen framing styles, for example Sir Henry Raeburn and James Abbott McNeill Whistler.
We offer bespoke hand-finished contemporary frames for 20th and 21st century paintings.
FAS Frames & Conservation offers a complete conservation service from housekeeping advice through conservation treatments to full-scale reconstructions of damaged frames.
FAS Frames and Conservation provide conservation mounting and framing using museum-quality materials and practice. We supply decorative mounts; speciality glass to protect valuable paintings; hanging services; hand lettered picture plaques; and offer advice on all aspects of framing and conservation.
We were established in 1982 and traded as a subsidiary to Bourne Fine Art under the name Bourne Frames and Restoration. We merged with the Fine Art Society London in 2004 and have since been renamed as FAS Frames and Conservation.
